The first two weeks with a new litter always seems to go very slowly, but very quickly at the same time. Slowly in that the puppies are so small and vulnerable, it can be difficult not to worry. Quickly in that Apa (mom) does all the work and we simply observe from a distance, with the exception of taking daily weights. Of course, right around three weeks old that changes drastically!

We have posted some photos. They are early photos, as we do not like to disturb much at this age, so more descriptive photos to follow soon. You can see all 8 puppies here.

There are 6 females and 2 males, perhaps the most unevenly distributed litter we have had.
